To the northwest of Beijing, a huge, serrated wall zigzags it's way to the east and west along the undulating mountains. This is the Great Wall, which is said to be visible from the moon. Badaling Great Wall is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, also the earliest section to be open to the tourists among all the parts of the whole Great Wall. Badaling Great Wall was enlisted in the World Cultural Heritage Directory by UNESCO in1997. July 7, 2007 has once again witnessed the worldwide reputation that the Great Wall gained: it was listed among the New Seven Wonders of the World.
